Lawrence Shin, MD is a Fellowship trained spine surgeon serving the greater Baltimore metropolitan region. Dr. Shin performs both minimally spine surgeries and complex surgeries on the cervical, lumbar, and thoracic regions of the spine.

Dr. Shin comprehensively evaluates each patient and non-operative treatment is aggressively pursued before surgery is recommended. Whether performing minimally invasive surgery, or extensive reconstruction of the spine, surgery is tailored to the patient's activity level, health status, and expectations.

Under Dr. Shin's care patients are directed to a select team of physical therapists, chiropractors, rehabilitation doctors, pain management specialists, physiatrists, cancer specialists, neurologists, anesthesiologists, and neurosurgeons.

Dr. Shin has practiced orthopaedic spine surgery in Baltimore and Howard County since 1992. He earned his Bachelor degree from Northwestern, Medical Doctor from Harvard Medical School, completed his Residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the UCLA Medical Center, and Fellowship trained in spine surgery under Edward Simmons, M.D.
